Held bi-annually, The Trans Tasman Challenge is a premier international contest celebrating the strength, versatility and spirit of the Australian Quarter Horse across Australia and New Zealand.
Traditionally only AQHA Youth Teams participated, but more recently the Amateurs from both countries now also take part in the Challenge.
Trans-Tasman is not just a challenge between the two countries, but an opportunity to gain new skills, make new friends, have some fun and represent your Country in the sport that you love.
Team members compete in specific classes at the Challenge include but are not limited to, Showmanship, Western Pleasure, Western Horsemanship, Trail, Western Riding, Reining, Hunter Under Saddle and Hunt Seat Equitation.
The 2 countries take turns in hosting this great event.
Whether competing, supporting, or following along, the Trans-Tasman Challenge stands as a celebration of excellence, tradition and the future of the Quarter Horse industry across the Tasman.
