Welcome to AQHA Showing!!

Showing your Australian Quarter Horse is fun for the entire family and we want you to get the most out of your experience at an AQHA Affiliated Event. Showing is about much more than prizes and the thrill of competition, you’ll make lifelong friends who share your passion and most importantly, you’ll do it all with the most loyal, hardworking and willing teammate you’ll ever have, an Australian Quarter Horse.

Horses exhibited MUST BE registered in a financial membership.The exhibitor showing the horse must hold a financial Full, Youth, individual Life or be the nominee of a financial membership (with the exception of the nominee of a Youth or Affiliate Membership).

JOIN or RENEW Membership

Will you compete in Youth, Amateur or Open classes? Find out by learning more about the divisions offered for AQHA members. Membership types are specific to the division you show in.

Amateur/Select Amateur - Must be financial members of the AQHA and the Amateur/Select must hold a current Amateur/Select Permit.

Youth - for points to be awarded for AQHA Annual High Point Awards, the youth must exhibit a horse that is owned by immediate family.

Novice Amateur, Novice Youth or Novice Horse Owners

To gain Novice status you must download the Novice application at Membership Forms

Once you have applied, and be accepted for Novice status you do not have to re-apply each year. 

NB: If you decide to withdraw from your Novice status, please send an email to shows@aqha.com.au

When you're ready to go to a show, use our online Calendar for a list of AQHA-approved shows or contact one of our AQHA Affiliates near you.

All AQHA sanctioned events held by the Association, its Affiliates and any organisation that has been given program approval must run under AQHA Rules and Regulations. See SECTION THREE (3) SHOW AND PERFORMANCE of the current Rulebook.

The Association awards numerous Register of Merits each show season to Horses, Youth and Amateurs that have excelled in their discipline. Points are allocated towards these awards from AQHA Approved shows and shows run by Approved Performance Bodies recognised by the Association.

Each year the AQHA highlights the dedication and commitment of our member by recognising its leading horse and rider’s achievements at the Annual Awards Night.
