Ricky Glen

President and Cattle & Timed Events Director

I am a single dad with two sons, Lachlan and James and I manage a great stallion in Peptos Stylish Oak.

The world is sitting up and seeing what Australia is producing, both with riders and horses winning and placing at major events in the USA and one must also add that these riders are the product of the youth system that we must continue to support to nurture for riders and trainers of tomorrow.

We must also remember our past members and horses and ensure that their achievements are recorded and recognised so they are long remembered.
The AQHA is in a great position and will continue to grow and grow and with good management will continue to do so.

Kane Skopp

Vice President, International and Marketing Director

I have been involved in the western industry for the past 20 years and a member of  the AQHA for almost 15 years. Alongside Holly Johnson, we own and operate HK Show Horses from Haigslea, Qld where we manage a breeding and training program focusing on western pleasure and hunter under saddle futurity horses as well as youth and amateur all around horses.

We have trained many horses to major futurity wins and national championships as well as coached numerous youth and amateurs from novice level to the winners circle.

Our breeding program has been successful in both Australia and the United States as we strive to continue to improve the stock and add to the gene pool with importing stallions and mares into our country.

We have a keen interest in coaching and are often conducting clinics within Australia and overseas.

I am passionate about the Quarter Horse and am looking forward to contributing to the future of our industry.

Liz Keating

Investigative Officer and Youth Director

I live in central Victoria not far from Kyabram. My husband and I have a small farm approx 200 acres where we run beef cattle, along with my boutique training facility. Between Sam and myself, we have 5 adult children and 6 grandchildren that keep us busy in what little spare time we have.

I have been an active member of the AQHA for over 40 years, firstly competing as an Amateur, then becoming a professional coach and trainer in 2009 when I started Lifestyle Performance Horses P/L. I have also been actively involved with AQHA affiliates over the years, and am presently the treasurer for on the Goulburn Valley QHA & WRC, which involves running one of Australia’s premium shows Summer Sizzler, so I have an understanding of what is involved from an Affiliate prospective.

My passion is the grass roots of our industry.  I love introducing newcomers to our beloved Quarter Horses and being a part of their journey through my lesson and training program.  From the basics to competing successfully at elite levels, my program ensures the bond between horse and rider is utmost.

I have been a Board member for 8 years, in that time holding the Affiliate, Traditional, and now the Youth portfolio. Our youth are the future of the AQHA  and I look forward to steering the portfolio with the input from our youth members.
